Frequently Asked Questions
What is Preservage?
Preservage is Youth & Earth's award-winning unique, all-natural combination of Trans-Resveratrol, Curcumin, Quercetin, and BioPerine. This powerful combination was carefully crafted to optimize intestinal absorption of Resveratrol (350%) and Curcumin (200%), allowing your body to experience enhanced natural benefits. This would equate to one serving as 900mg of Trans-Resveratrol, 658mg of Curcumin and 400mg of Quercetin. With a selection of polyphenols known to boost the longevity gene Sirtuin, it gets to work deep within the body to help slow the ageing process naturally.
What are Sirtuins?
Sirtuins are a family of 7 proteins that help regulate our cellular health. They play an important role in ageing. However, sirtuins can only function in the presence of NAD+. Out of the seven sirtuins in the cell, three of them work in the mitochondria, three of them work in the nucleus and one of them works in the cytoplasm, each playing a variety of role.
In our cells, there are many compounds performing various tasks but all have the ultimate goal — stay healthy and function efficiently for as long as possible. Sirtuins play the role of determining what needs to be done and when. However, they can’t operate on their own as sirtuins need NAD+ to function. Dr. David Sinclair has recognised Sirtuins as the 'master regulators of defenses against age-related disease', and when we tweak the SIRT1 gene, it makes the whole body more robust and fitter.
What do Sirtuins do?
Sirtuins are involved in the regulation of many fundamental biological processes thoughout the body. They are special proteins that are NAD+ dependent, and require NAD+ for fuel and they are essential in delaying cellular senescence and extending lifespan. They regulate the pathways that control cellular death; they turn anti-ageing genes on and off; repair DNA and regulate our metabolism. Sirtuins are crucial cellular proteins that hold sway over a broad range of physiological processes. As such, they present a promising therapeutic strategy to mitigate age-related diseases and extend your health span. The main way Sirtuins are activated is through hot & cold stress & Calorie restriction (CR). CR is by far the most effective intervention, genetic or environmental, for slowing down ageing in mammals.
Does Resveratrol increase your Sirtuin activity?
Preservage Increases your Sirtuin activity with the unique formulation of Trans-Resveratrol, Curcumin, Quercetin, and BioPerine. It is designed to optimise bioavailability of Resveratrol (350%) and Curcumin (229%), allowing your body to experience the natural benefits that enhance your body's best defence against premature ageing. This would equate to one serving as 900mg of Trans-Resveratrol, 658mg of Curcumin and 400mg of Quercetin.
What does increased Sirtuin activity mean?
Increased Sirtuin activity could mimic Calorie Restriction (CR) and help to regulate epigenetic modifications. It could assist in delaying cellular senescence, improving cardiovascular function. Increased Sirtuin activity may also assist in regulating neurological function, and inflammatory and stress Response.
Do I need to take Preservage with NMN?
We recommend to take NMN and Preservage together for enhanced effects as they have a synergetic effect. NMN boosts NAD+ levels, crucial for energy production and cellular function, whilst Preservage activates the Sirtuin genes, associated with longevity and regulating cellular processes. Together, they enhance each other's effects on cellular energy production and repair mechanisms. This combined action could offer better cellular protection and support against aging-related decline.
What's the difference between Preservage and Liposomal Resveratrol?
Preservage is a unique formulation that contains Resveratrol, Curcumin, Quercetin, and BioPerine. Our Preservage supplement in a capsule form was specially designed to optimize intestinal absorption of Resveratrol (350%) and Curcumin (200%) for enhanced benefits. Our Liposomal Resveratrol is pure Resveratrol and was made using a Liposomal Technology, which allows for higher absorption, 8x times greater bioavailability, and is more biocompatible to the human body compared to other brands. Both products are just as effective, it comes down to preference and your preferred method of delivery.
Is Resveratrol the same as Retinol?
Although both play comparable roles in combating the ageing process, while Retinol is renowned for its anti-ageing effects, Resveratrol serves as an active alternative derived from grapes and olives. Resveratrol is a potent antioxidant that safeguards our cells against UV-induced stress, and could lower the chances of skin cancer and premature ageing.
What are some food sources of Resveratrol?
Our Trans-Resveratrol can be found in red wine, grapes, berries and chocolate. Our Trans-Resveratrol comes from Japanese Knotweed. Curcumin is the main active ingredient found in the spice Turmeric. Quercetin is found in onions, grapes, berries, cherries, broccoli, and citrus fruits. Piperine is a compound found in Black Pepper and used to increase the absorption of the ingredients.
Is your Resveratrol 'Trans-Resveratrol'?
Yes, our Trans-Resveratrol is 98% pure and comes from Japanese knotweed.
